Khaleque: BNP crying foul

BNP’s allegations of irregularities and vote rigging in the Khulna City Corporation election are baseless, says Awami League’s mayoral candidate Talukder Abdul Khaleque. The Election Commission would have taken steps if their allegations were true,” said the ruling party leader. Responding to a query, Khaleque said, if elected mayor, he would work together with Monju for the city’s development. Voting at only three polling centres were cancelled after some people snatched ballot boxes from those centres, said election officials. BNP leader Monju earlier in the day had claimed that Awami League leaders and activists took over a number of polling centres in several wards across the city.
