Syrul Kabir Khan, an aide to the BNP chairperson, told the Dhaka Tribune that Khaleda Zia’s official Facebook Page, Twitter account and the party’s blog and website is to be inaugurated today. Realising the importance of social media and its impact, Khaleda has planned to present her views on various issues on social media from now, Khan said. In Bangladesh, many political leaders, especially from the ruling Awami League, have been using the social media platforms to get connected with the people.
