BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia, in a tweet, has accused a state minister of Awami League-led government for his remark on a sub judice matter. At an event in Cox’s Bazar’s Chakaria upazila on Thursday, Mashiur Rahman Ranga, state minister for Local Government and Rural Development, said the BNP chairperson will be sent behind bars in 15 days . She wrote: “Friday, Jan 19, newspapers reported, an unelected [Sic] state minister said that Khaleda Zia would be sent to jail in the next 15 days. Isn’t it a clear case of contempt of court? People are watching how the judiciary protects its independence?”
