BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia is scheduled to leave Dhaka for London reportedly for treatment purposes on Saturday, said party sources. According to BNP’s media wing, the former prime minister will set off for London in an Emirates flight that will takeoff at 7:30pm. The development came after an urgent meeting of the party’s standing committee held at Khaleda’s residence in Gulshan on Thursday night. However, the party insiders said Khaleda may come back from the UK after Eid-ul-Azha. Gayeshwar told the Dhaka Tribune that they discussed the overall political situation of the country and several issues persistent within the party.
