The Dokki Misdemeanour Court postponed on Monday the trial of prominent lawyer Khaled Ali to 3 July, after requests of his defence team to view documents and CDs of the lawsuit. The defence team of Ali urged the court to view lawsuit documents and CDs, as the client was not confronted with any evidence and was only referred to an urgent trial. Last week, the General Prosecution released Ali with a bail of EGP 1,000, pending trial, after being investigated for five hours over the lawsuit. Ali was the lawyer who brought the agreement to the Administrative Court that ruled the islands are Egyptian. A photograph of Ali making an inappropriate gesture was circulated on social media in January after the final verdict.
