Nurmagomedov recently spoke about a potential location and opponent for his return bout. One of the issues that could prevent Nurmagomedov’s timely return is the suspensions of his teammates, Zubaira Tukgugov, and Abubakar Nurmagomedov. Both of those fighters are serving one-year suspensions for their actions after UFC 229. As for his next potential opponent, Nurmagomedov pointed to the UFC 236 main event matchup between Max Holloway and Dustin Poirier. “(Holloway and Poirier) are fighting for the interim belt, and the champion has to face the interim champion,” said Nurmagomedov.
