But bidders have received indications that a steering committee hired by Takata’s board to oversee the process is ready to pick Key Safety Systems, they said. Key Safety Systems executives were in Tokyo last week to meet with Takata, its bankers and car makers, according to one of the people. Key Safety Systems currently accounts for about 10% of the global air-bag market. Key Safety Systems also plans to expand its relationship with air-bag inflater maker Daicel Corp. , which is currently a supplier to both Key Safety Systems and Takata.
