In a Vote Lie Government built on Johnson’s Brexit fibs, what Trump’s team termed “alternative facts” - porkies – is a daily routine. Johnson’s personal popularity slumping and voters’ preferring Labour’s serious Keir Starmer to run the country is part of the new mood. The other part is a growing appreciation of Blair and Brown who sound authoritative, men who know what they’re talking about, when questioned on TV and Radio. Blair will never fully escape the Iraq disaster but it’s no longer the first thing people think about when he pops up. Because it was a golden age, including solutions to a world financial collapse, compared with the Conservative mayhem under three of history’s inadequate Prime Ministers.
