At a press conference on Monday, 1 April 2019, Mr Quashigah accused Mr Akufo-Addo of wilfully causing financial loss to the state and demanded the withdrawal of the appointment. An appointment letter dated 19 March 2019 signed by the Minister of Transport, Mr Kwaku Ofori Asiama, congratulated the Ohio State University-trained lawyer on his appointment. However, Deputy Minister of Transport, Nii Kwartei Titus-Glover has backed the appointment.
