Photo by Domnick WalshTralee has another award-winning resident in its midst this week after Doireann Barrett and her 'Gluten Free Kitchen Company' received a prestigious national award. It's been a long road to success for Doireann - who won the Corporate Livewire Prestige Awards 2020/2021 Gluten Free Food Business of the Year this past week - after she set up the 'Food & Wellness' brand 10 years ago in 2011 after being diagnosed with two life changing health conditions within 12 months of each other. Back in 2004 and 2005 aged just 25, Doireann was diagnosed with coeliac disease which is an auto-immune disease and endometriosis which is a gynaecology disease. This is where the brand got formally established and went on to grow into what is now, a multi award winning food and wellness brand servicing the 'free from' Communities on a local, national and international platform.
