Kering Group Bans Working With Models Under 18

ASSOCIATED PRESSFashion houses including Gucci, Saint Laurent, Balenciaga and Alexander McQueen will no longer work with models who are under 18 in a new policy introduced by their parent company Kering. Bottega Veneta, Brioni, Boucheron, Pomellato, DoDo, Qeelin, Ulysse Nardin, Girard-Perregaux, and Kering Eyewear will also be implicated as part of the group. In 2017, Kering announced they would no longer work with models younger than 16 as part of their charter on the working relations and wellbeing of models which was drawn up with rival fashion group LVMH. There has been mounting pressure on the fashion industry to regulate the treatment of models in recent years. In 2015, France became one of the first countries to introduced legislation to prevent underweight models from working.
