Kericho has become the first out of the 47 counties to launch a modern blood transfusion ambulance. Last Friday, Governor Paul Chepkwony said the surveillance ambulance will mainly target accident victims who sometimes die due to heavy bleeding before reaching local hospitals. The ambulance was among three vehicles released by the governor outside his office on Friday. The other two other cars will be used in surveillance duties for emergencies away from the the county health facilities. The governor, who is completing his second and final term of office, said the county was proud to have launched the first ever blood transfusion ambulance in Kenya.
