KUALA LUMPUR: Members of the public and non-governmental organisations (NGOs) have been streaming in to the Darul Quran Ittfaqiyah tahfiz school to visit the site of the tragedy and hand over donations for victims of the tragedy. As of 4pm today, people have been walking up to a booth set up in front of the school to convey their condolences and hand over donations. Umno Bahagian Pekan visited the site around noon, handing over RM68,000 as well as food to a school representative. Wanita Umno Pekan chief Datuk Zalmah Abdul Rahman said the money was from the people of Pekan, and was collected from a donation drive yesterday. "The collection is still ongoing and Umno Pekan will continue to handover the people's contributions to the Tahfiz school in stages," he said.
