Mr Kenyatta said his Jubilee coalition’s victory in the national poll last month meant it still had sufficient MPs in parliament to sanction Mr Odinga if he were to win the re-run of the presidential poll that was ordered by the supreme court last week. He also threatened to use his coalition’s majority in parliament and the senate to make Mr Odinga’s term in office impossible. “If Raila is elected how will he lead? How?” the 52-year-old incumbent asked an audience at State House, the seat of power in Nairobi.
