Reports of a plot to edge out Attorney General Professor Githu Muigai on grounds that the current administration is not pleased with him for his strict application of law are disturbing. In any case, laid-down legal procedures for their removal were sacrificed at the altar of political expediency. We must not allow the entire country to be driven by the will of a small clique of individuals. We must put an end to crucifying a few individuals who are faithful to our constitution by hounding them out of office. We must also accept that Muigai carries a heavy burden of responsibility.
