Kenyan coach sent home from Rio after posing as a runner to provide urine sample

Track coach John Anzrah was caught impersonating Kenyan 800-meter runner Ferguson Rotich and providing a urine sample for the runner, who had been tagged for a random drug test. Kenyan Athletics sent its second official home from Rio de Janeiro on Thursday because of drug-testing issues, according to the Associated Press. Rotich also claimed he went and found the tester after the fact to provide blood and urine samples. On Sunday, Kenyan Athletics sent track and field manager Michael Rotich home from Rio after allegations surfaced that he offered to give journalists, posing undercover as coaches, advance warning about doping tests in exchange for 10,000 pounds, or about $13,000. Anzrah was found with Rotich’s credential and reportedly gave a sample and signed forms under Rotich’s name.
