Kenyan Stacy Ndiwa won the women's portion of the 38th Los Angeles Marathon Sunday and claimed a $10,000 bonus by finishing ahead of men's winner Jemal Yimer of Ethiopia. Ethiopia took the top two spots in the men's race, with 37-year-old Yemane Tsegay finishing second in a time of 2:14:06.95. Kenyan’s Stacy Ndiwa (2:31:00) and Ethiopia’s Jemal Yimer (2:13:13) are the winners of the 2023 Los Angeles Marathon presented by ASICS! Her first was the inaugural 1986 Los Angeles Marathon. Since then, he has led three weekly training sessions around downtown Los Angeles -- six-mile runs on Mondays and Thursdays and up to 18 miles on Saturdays.
