On Friday, February 17, the Kenyan newspapers reported that former president Uhuru Kenyatta risks losing his retirement perks if he remains as Jubilee Party leader. Daily NationA faction of Jubilee MPs who toppled party leader Uhuru Kenyatta's allies has threatened to kick him out of the party if he doesn't give in to their demands. The leaders led by EALA MP Kanini Kega want Uhuru to work with President William Ruto or be ousted from the party leadership. The new Jubilee Party leaders gave Uhuru six months to negotiate the way forward. "Those who were getting KSh 3,000 would now get KSh 6,000 while those who were getting KSh 5,000 are getting KSh 10,000," he added.
