According to the poll, 47% of respondents said they would vote for Raila if elections were held today compared to Ruto's 43.4%. The event culminated in the endorsement of Deputy President William Ruto as UDA's presidential candidate; he was also given the nod to negotiate with other parties on behalf of the outfit. The highlight of the NDC was deputy president William Ruto's bare-knuckle speech in which he accused the state of weaponising certain government agencies.
