On Friday, May 6, the Kenyan newspapers reported about Azimio la Umoja leader Raila Odinga's campaigns in the vote-rich Mt Kenya region. The StandardAzimio la Umoja One Kenya Alliance presidential aspirant Raila Odinga has addressed fears by the coalition's candidates in Mt Kenya that they could lose their votes if they associate with him. The ODM leader said that some aspirants had left out his portrait in their campaign posters and branded vehicles, which could affect efforts to popularise his presidential bid. The aspirants argue that Raila is hard to sell in Mt Kenya, a region perceived to be considerably behind Deputy President William Ruto who kicked off in-roads a few years back. The StarTIFA's new poll has shown that ODM supremo Raila Odinga is closing in on his closest rival, Deputy President William Ruto, in the 2022 presidential race.
