On Tuesday, April 19, the local newspapers reported that Deputy President William Ruto has reportedly decided to name his running mate from the populous Mt Kenya region. Front pages of Daily Nation, Taifa Leo, The Standard and People Daily newspapers. Kitui Governor Charity Ngilu said their resolve is that the coalition should have a woman as the running mate. Azimio is expected to name Raila's running mate before the April 28 deadline set by the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC). The ODM leader is expected back in the country on April 29 to continue with his presidential campaigns.
