Nadine Gary, the organisation's spokeswoman, said the plastic surgery would be conducted by Marci Bowers, a gynaecological surgeon, and other partners. Dr Bowers is also expected to offer training in conducting the surgery for local doctors during her stay in the country. Also participating will be Clemence Linard, our clinical sexologist in France, who will offer patients counselling and share her expertise with Kenyan sexologist Tammary Esho, who has volunteered to assist," said Ms Gary. A United Nations Children's Fund report indicates that a quarter of Kenyan women are victims of FGM.
