Kenyan Company Halts Applications After Over 3,000 People Apply for 2 Internship Positions

A Kenyan company on Monday halted applications after an overwhelming number of Kenyans showed interest in two advertised positions. Youth Agenda (YAA) had on May 6, announced that it was seeking two interns to work in their Nairobi-based office. Interested applicants were asked to submit their resumes either for Finance and Admin or Monitoring and Evaluation intern positions. “We have closed the application process for the Finance and Admin Intern and M&E Intern positions,” YAA announced after receiving the overwhelming responses. In March 2024, over 50,000 jobless youth unsuccessfully applied for limited internship slots advertised by the Public Service Commission.
