“With two million new infections globally, we must invest in combined HIV prevention. The CS noted that Kenya is committed to the implementation of the global 90-90-90 strategy which sets out the global HIV targets that should be met by 2020. Health CS Dr Cleopa Mailu said of the two million Kenyans found positive so far, 900,000 have been put on ARV treatment. Kenya has one of the world's highest HIV testing rates with about 72 per cent of citizens having been tested at least once. The World Assembly plans to have the viral load of 90 per cent of all people receiving antiretroviral treatment suppressed.
