Kenya on Wednesday recorded 589 new cases of Covid-19, bringing the country's case load to 173,661, Health CS Mutahi Kagwe has said. Kagwe said a total of 994 patients are currently admitted in various health facilities countrywide, while 5,049 patients are under the HomeBased Isolation and Care program. Also, 114 patients are in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), 29 of whom are on ventilatory support and 65 on supplemental oxygen. Another 93 patients are separately on supplemental oxygen with86 of them in general wards and 7 in High Dependency Units(HDU). Meanwhile, 312 patients have recovered from the disease, 184 from the Home Based and Isolation Care program while 128 are from various health facilities countrywide.
