Kenya Power must advise consumers on rights - CS Keter

Energy CS Charles Keter has said Kenya Power gets away without paying for property damage caused by its electrical problems because many people don't know their rights. Appearing before the Senate Standing Committee on Energy, the CS promised that measures are being undertaken to sensitise consumers on their rights. Kenya Power's Rosemary Oduor, the general manager for customer service, told the committee the company has organised 'power clinics' in marginalised areas to sensitise the people. Oduor said Kenya Power does compensate for damages after the matter is subjected to due process. She said the company plans to use Customer Week starting on October 12 to sensitise Kenyans about Kenya Power.
