Detailing the procurement procedure for curtains and furniture without adherence to the law, the Auditor General revealed that the office spent KSh10.27 million on curtains and KSh7.87 million on furniture. "In the year ending, the office (of the Deputy President) bought curtains and furniture amounting to KSh10,272,524 and KSh7,869,700, respectively, both totaling KSh18,142,224," Gathungu said. Additionally, KSh250 million will be used to refurbish buildings at the Nakuru State House, and another KSh240 million will be allocated to change a fence and give a facelift to the main house at the Mombasa State House. State House is also planning to spend KSh 70 million on ICT networking and communications equipment. In total, the State House has sought KSh16.2 billion for the next financial year.
