The Government owes it to Kenyans to distance itself from what appears to be a systematic culture of death squads being reared in the police service," said Mudavadi He further observed that the Syokimau killing fields are not the only ones, saying that hundreds of other victims of police torture and death squads are scattered in unknown fields in the country. We need to borrow a leaf from the USA federal investigative system where no security agency investigates itself,” said Mudavadi. Mudavadi said authorities should act fast and institute actual police reforms as required by the Constitution, rather than continuing with the stalled cosmetic exercises currently in vogue.
