They were freed on Sh1 million bond or Sh500,000 cash bail each. The Meru principal magistrate released the two when they appeared for their bail application. They were remanded in custody after they took a plea on Monday, denying violently robbing the deputy governor, with the prosecutor Anthony Musyoka saying police needed to probe the matter further.
