According to UN Habitat, the key target of Goal Eleven was to ensure that all people have access to adequate, safe and affordable housing. Making housing affordable and accessible requires creative solutions. For example, The Low-Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC), a programme designed in the 80s, is the most important resource used in developing affordable housing in the United States today. This project accounts for over 90 per cent of all affordable housing in the US. Kenya and Africa at large should follow these steps and create an affordable housing market.
