The fifth phase of the Last Mile Connectivity Project (LMCP) in Kenya to connect homes to electricity, has received a KSh 1.85 billion (around $14 million) grant from the Japanese International Co-operation Agency (JICA). The funding will allow Kenya Power to connect 9,121 households across four counties – Nakuru, Kwale, Kilifi and Nyandarua. The JICA grant comes two months after Kenya Power signed 26 contracts for the implementation of Phase 4 of the LMCP.
