Updated Wed, June 29th 2016 at 10:04 GMT +3A fire destroyed two five star hotels and 10 private cottages in Diani town, Kwale Tuesday evening. No injuries were reported but tourists said some people who pretended to be rescuers started looting. Reports indicate there were about 50 tourists, mainly German, in the hotels when the fire whose cause is not known broke out. The Palm and Paradise Hotels were reduced to ashes despite efforts by fire fighters to put out the fierce fire that swept across the establishment from around 5pm.
