Once again, we’re told, climate change will be at the top of the agenda. In 1992, representatives of 172 countries held a triumphant get-together in Rio de Janeiro to save the world from global warming. There was overwhelming agreement among world leaders that they were definitely determined to make progress. Key moments in the summit are expected to include Trump’s meetings with German Chancellor Angela Merkel and Russian President Vladimir Putin. The president has already pulled America from the Paris climate agreement, not that much was likely to be accomplished in any case.
