Canadians don’t really appreciate the gem they have in the CBC, perhaps because most don’t understand it. (Why, you ask, would the CBC re-purpose the title of a forgettable 1999 Bruce Willis-Michelle Pfeiffer romp to celebrate a national birthday bash? You got something against Mi’kmaq, CBC? Is the CBC suggesting history only began when the white people arrived? Why not just retitle it “The Patriarchy’s White Privilege History of Yet Another Colonialist Outrage”?
