For better or worse, Alabamans evidently don’t accept that abortion issues are settled as long as they have views that haven’t been addressed. And many of those views are strongly held, as evidenced by the passage this week of a bill effectively outlawing abortion. “This bill is about challenging Roe v. Wade and protecting the lives of the unborn because an unborn baby is a person who deserves love and protection,” she said. Kay Ivey, who signed the bill, “just raped Alabama.”Opponents fear the court, with its new conservative majority, may be more inclined than previous ones to question Roe v Wade.
