Oregon State lived in the paint and at the foul line, outscoring Grambling 40-26 close to the basket while making 24 of 30 free throws. The Beavers led 44-30 at halftime and built that margin to 17 before Grambling went on a 7-0 run to pull within 52-42 with 16:14 left. Oregon State led by double digits the rest of the way. They shot 37.3 percent, with senior guard Ivy Smith Jr. scoring 17 points and senior forward Devante Jackson adding 13. Grambling takes on Portland State on Tuesday in Santa Barbara, Calif., while Oregon State faces San Jose State on Wednesday in Las Vegas.
