KOTA BARU: The Kelantan government has acknowledged that drug abuse among schoolchildren in the state, especially with regard to ‘pil kuda’ (methamphetamine), has become rampant. "(According to Nada), of the 4,148 students who underwent urine drug tests, 279 tested positive (for meth). "The tests were conducted at 164 secondary schools in Kelantan this year," he said, adding that 275 of the students are male. Dr Mohamed Fadzli added that the tests were conducted only at government schools, and excluded Islamic schools. He said 18 students were arrested for drug abuse in a series of operations this year.
