Academician and social activist Kekhrie Yhome today filed his nomination for the by-election to the Northern Angami I assembly seat. The 41 year old academician turned politician would be contesting the by-election as an Independent candidate against Nagaland People's Front (NPF) candidate and Chief Minister Shurhozelie Liezietsu in the July 29 bypoll. Liezietsu had filed his nomination yesterday. Interacting with media-persons after filing the nomination, Yhome said the remaining eight months for the term is long enough to carry forward many thing desired by the people. Scrutiny of nomination will be done tomorrow and the last date of withdrawal of candidature is July 15.
