Two days before the decommissioning work was due to commence, decommissioning work commenced. Excuse my naivety, but isn't one imperfect trolley bus fleet in the hand better than 100s of low-emission, rechargeable, super-duper hybrids in the bush? One of the few GWRC voices against decommissioning the trolleys has been councillor Sue Kedgley, who has maintained that the trolley buses should have been kept until the Wrightspeed technology was proven.
