Kenya Bureau of Standards has launched investigations into Always sanitary towels. "Following the concerns expressed on social media, Kebs has launched investigations that include extensive market surveillance and testing of these products to ascertain if there exists any breach of quality standards," the institution said in a statement. Sanitary towels are covered by the KS EAS 96-1:2018 East Africa Standard for Sanitary. Kebs said in the course of quality surveillance it has drawn samples of brands of sanitary towels on sale in Kenya. The hashtag has brought women together to demand better quality sanitary pads.
