The Kebbi State government has donated N20 million to the state’s chapter of Nigerian legionnaires’ emblem launching and appeal fund to mark the 2018 armed forces remembrance day. Atiku Bagudu at the emblem appeal fund in Birnin Kebbi on Friday made the donation. Bagudu called on the public to support war veterans to improve their standards of living, stressing that they spent their youthful days to ensure peace and unity in the country. Amaru Ambursa, the acting Chairman of the state chapter of Nigerian legionnaires, urged government to improve the standard of living of families of deceased soldiers and the war veterans. A second world war veteran, Aliyu Baso, said the families of fallen heroes and veterans needed support for their past roles to ensure peace and unity in the country.
