Kenya National Highways Authority on Wednesday repaired the Kainuk bridge which was swept away by floodwaters. KeNHA said in a statement that the Kainuk bridge will be operational to low tonnage traffic. The highway, which connects Kenya with South Sudan, was shut at the bridge as a safety measure to avert further losses. CHICO, a Chinese company, has been contracted by the national government to construct a new bridge in Kainuk and has already pitched camp at the site.
