Kawerau siege accused heading to High Court trialREBEKAH PARSONS-KING/FAIRFAX NZ Rhys Warren appears at the Whakatane District Court after the siege. Justice Brewer set down a three-week trial to be held in the High Court at Hamilton on March 6, 2017. On Wednesday, Warren appeared via audio visual link in the High Court at Tauranga before Justice Timothy Brewer. Warren was also remanded in custody until June 27, when he is due in the High Court at Rotorua for an electronic bail hearing. The Bay of Plenty man accused of shooting police officers during a 22-hour armed standoff in March will stand trial next year.
