On Tuesday, Kaveripakkam received thundershowers in the evening, which was recorded at 25.4 mm, while Ambur received 11.2 mm of rain till Wednesday morning. The department predicted similar weather till Sunday, with day temperatures reaching a maximum of 42 degrees Celsius, and night-time temperatures 28 degrees. Heat wave conditionsThe officials attributed the rain to the heat wave conditions prevailing in the region for the past fortnight. Tirupattur town has been experiencing showers in short spells for the past two days. Day temperatures have become too hot to handle in Vellore, Tirupattur, Jolarpet, Arcot and Walajapet.
