Kate O’Connor firmly on track for medal at World Indoor Championships

Kate O’Connor is firmly on track to secure another major medal for Ireland after a strong first three events in the pentathlon at the World Indoor Championships in Torun, Poland. Poland’s Adrianna Sulek-Schubert is in fourth with 2875, just 34 points behind O’Connor. She was visibly frustrated after failing three times at 1.84m, given she cleared a PB of 1.86m at the World Championships in Tokyo last year. Sulek-Schubert also has a quicker PB than O’Connor over 800m, 2:07.17 to O’Connor’s 2:09.56, while Dokter’s best is 2:10.88. I'm incredibly disappointed.”World Indoor Championships: Live, Virgin Media Two, 4.30pmIrish in action, Sunday (Irish time)Kate O’Connor: pentathlon long jump, 4.40pm; pentathlon 800m, 7.03pm
