“The Kashmiri migrants will continue to get upto 5 pc quota in admissions. In a letter to the university, the HRD ministry had asked to ensure “concession for the wards of Kashmiri migrants for admission during academic session 2016-17”. “The reservation to Kashmiri migrants has been part of DU’s admission policy for years. Admission through this quota does not take place with the general admissions process, since this quota is ‘over and above’ other reserved categories of the university. A top official of the 24-member committee, which is working on an admission policy for the ensuing session, on Tuesday said that no changes are likely in the reservation for Kashmiri Migrants.
