The encounter began on Monday morning when forces, on specific inputs, cordoned off Bamnoo village in Pulwama district of south Kashmir. At least 10 protesters have also been injured in the clashes with the forces and protesters near the encounter site. The three militants killed in encounter were newly recruited. On Saturday (July 1) top Lashkar commander Bashir Lashkari was killed in an encounter in Anantnag. Hailing from Kokernag area of Anantnag district in south Kashmir Bashir Lashkari crossed to Pakistan occupied Kashmir (PoK) in 1999.
