The chief minister Siddaramaiah has embarked upon the exercise more than three years after assuming office on 13 May 2013. In the reshuffle, the chief minister has tried to balance equations of caste and region. Ahead of the swearing in, Siddaramaiah had recommended the sacking of 14 ministers which the governor accepted. The cabinet revamp seeks to put the Congress party on a sound footing two years before the assembly elections in KarnatakaThe chief minister Siddaramaiah has embarked upon the exercise more than three years after assuming office on 13 May 2013.
