Karnataka govt allows Ganesh Chaturthi public gatherings with restrictionsThe Karnataka government on Tuesday allowed all public installations or pandals for the Ganesh Chaturthi festival in a restricted manner. Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa on Tuesday announced revised guidelines for celebrating Ganesh Chaturthi on August 22. Even the government had restricted the Ganesha festival to temples and homes. The height of the Ganesha idol that will be installed at homes should not exceed two feet. Citizens will have to immerse the Ganesha idol at home and Public Ganeshotsava organizers must immerse the idols within the locality.
