The chehlum of Hazrat Imam Hussain and his fellow martyrs of Karbala is being solemnly observed across the country today, marked by religious fervour as processions grace various cities. In Lahore, the primary chehlum procession commenced from Delhi Gate, accompanied by extensive security measures, with 7,000 police personnel deployed for the safety of the event. Along the procession route, shops and markets have been temporarily closed, and Rangers personnel are stationed at critical points. In Hyderabad, the chehlum procession will start from Qadam Gah Maula Ali after Zuhr prayers, concluding at Karbala Dadan Shah, featuring traditional sabeels for mourners. Faisalabad has deployed a substantial security detail for its main chehlum procession, including five SPs, 10 DSPs, and over 1,800 officials.
